Nursery Lunch-Time Assistant (1605)

We are looking for a Nursery Assistant to help with the efficient running of our nursery mealtimes by being encouraging and promoting healthy eating. We require someone to work 10.00am to 2.30pm, Monday through to Friday, to assist with the preparation of lunch and tea, serving lunch and light household duties, such as some laundry.  

The RSC nursery is based on Waterside in Stratford Town Centre.

Reporting to the Head of Nursery, some of your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Simple food preparation, being aware of food intolerances and allergies
  • Serving meals and clearing plates
  • Supporting children whilst eating
  • Cleaning eating area and meal preparation areas
  • Laundry and light general cleaning
  • Working alongside the team to ensure that the setting's philosophy is fulfilled
  • Advising the Designated Safeguarding Leads of any concerns
  • Ensuring good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained

The right person for this role will:

  • Have energy and enthusiasm for supporting children
  • Be a great communicator, organised and self motivated

This position is offered as a part-time, permanent role, working 22.5 hours per week (4 and a half hours a day 10.00am until 2.30pm) Monday to Friday.

The RSC Nursery was established in 1963. We are fully registered with OFSTED and are subject to OFSTED inspection. The nursery is open Monday to Friday for 50 weeks per year (it is closed for 2 weeks at Christmas and on Bank Holidays).  The nursery operates between 7.45 am and 6.15pm and this role will be considered an integral part of the day. Staff meetings and training take place quarterly out of normal nursery operating hours so the team can all come together to share and learn.
