Assistant Music Director Placement (1567)

Are you a recent postgraduate or early-career Music Director, with training in music performance to a professional standard? Are you looking for a CPD/on-the-job training opportunity? Would you benefit from a placement between early October and 27 December to assist a Music Director on an RSC production?

We are offering a continuous professional development and training opportunity, for one person, to join us on a 14-week placement, to observe and assist the Music Director of The BFG.

To be eligible for this placement opportunity, you must meet the essential criteria below:

  • Available for the full 14 weeks of the placement, in both London & Stratford upon Avon
  • Music training to a professional standard, with Piano as your principal instrument
  • Experience within a Theatre environment
  • Experience accompanying movement/choreography/acting & singing rehearsals
  • Highly Proficient with Sibelius music typesetting software
  • Familiarity with file sharing platforms, including DropBox
  • Familiarity with DAWs, including Logic
  • Familiarity with digital music platforms, including forScore
  • Working knowledge of Keyboards, music technology and Keyboard programming software, including MainStage

Key information:

Interview/Audition

w/c 6 October, London

Rehearsals in London

Early October to 25 October, (5 weeks)

Continuing Rehearsals, Tech & Previews in Stratford upon Avon

27 October to 27 December, Stratford upon Avon (9 weeks)

Hours: The week equates to 35 hours per week

Salary: £675 per week

Additionally, Subsistence will be paid for the Stratford weeks
